Using Goals As Your GPS for Success
How do you drive from Dallas to Denver? You use a road atlas or a GPS navigation system to determine the route. There is a start point and an end point. You may sightsee, or take a wrong turn, but you have a final destination, and tools to get you to that destination.
How do you reach your goals? How do you earn wealth? A plan, a roadmap is needed. How do you know where you want to be without a goal? How do you reach your goal without a plan?
You can call them goals, visions, ideas, or anything that makes them clear to you. If you golf, your goal is to get the ball in the hole in the fewest number of strokes. At the tee box, you look at the flag, and look at the GPS map in your cart. You tee off, hoping to put the ball in the most advantageous position for your next shot. If that tee shot is not what you planned, you adjust for your second shot, and each subsequent shot until you chip in or sink your putt.
Reaching your goals is like that. You are on the tee box, and have a flag in the distance. Your map is not as clear as the one on your GPS. You take each step, adjusting as you near your goal. Finally, you reach your goal. You enjoy success in route and when the goal is achieved.
